Pepsi supports Black restaurateurs at Honeyland Festival, helping them to achieve success.
Pepsi Dig In recently took its mission to support Black Restaurateurs to the Honeyland Festival. This platform, launched by Pepsi in 2020 to provide accessibility and business growth to Black-owned restaurants, was the perfect opportunity to honor the community and culture in the greater Houston area.

Honeyland Festival was a unique experience in Sugarland, TX, uniting music, culinary achievement, and Black creativity. Pepsi curated its own park within the festival to celebrate Black culture and support restaurant vendors. At Pepsi Park, attendees were invited to the Dig In Reunion House, a hub to play games such as spades and dominoes while honoring the journey of Black-owned restaurants.

Pepsi Dig In also went the extra mile by sponsoring one restauranteur to cover the overhead costs of participating at Honeyland. The lucky recipient, Sianni Dean of Cranky Granny's Sweet Rolls, was featured in BLACK ENTERPRISE to share how Pepsi Dig In and her presence at Honeyland impacted her success.

Dean, a 24-year-old business owner, said, "They have been giving small Black businesses like mine the opportunity [to] reach a larger audience. Sometimes, we can't afford to do things like this because of equipment, inventory costs, and labor. To feed 30,000 people is not an easy job, so for Pepsi Dig In to help us on the back end so that we can come out here to Honeyland to do that, it's life-changing for us."

The effects of Pepsi Dig In's support have changed the trajectory of Dean's business, putting her vision of success on the path to fruition. "I think it is one thing to just throw money at a business, but Pepsi Dig In is actually coming in the back end to show us how to set our infrastructure to really be able to build up...Our long-term goal is to eventually franchise, so when we can have everything on the [foundation] together, everything else going up is going to be fine."

To further assist vendors at Honeyland, Pepsi Dig In has also launched the Black Restaurants Deliver program. This free 8-week program provides expert consulting to optimize these businesses digitally, boosting their search presence and online sales. This is an ongoing effort to ensure Black restaurants thrive, even as the food industry evolves.
