Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor, Jr. are no strangers to tragedy. In August, they filed a suit against the OB-GYN who delivered their baby accusing her of not following emergency protocols that resulted in the death of their baby. Now, they have launched a second lawsuit against an independent pathologist who allegedly posted the autopsy results on Instagram.

The couple sought the help of Dr. Jackson Gates to conduct an autopsy, paying him $2,500 to uncover the cause of death. However, what they weren't expecting was for him to post videos of the autopsy to his 11,000 followers without their permission. In a statement, the couple's attorneys said that they felt "shock, anger, humiliation and outrage" after learning that the videos had been made public.

Gates eventually removed the initial autopsy he shared online, but went on to post two more videos of the baby's autopsy on July 21. These videos graphically depicted the baby's head, body, brain, and organs, leaving the couple feeling exposed and violated.

In response, Ross and Taylor sent Gates a cease and desist letter on Aug. 10 demanding he take the videos down. Since the lawsuit was filed, Gates posted a video expressing his pride in using his social media to educate and counsel patients, while reiterating that he would never divulge the identity of any patient, live or deceased.

The couple is now seeking damages for invasion of privacy and fraud, and are hoping to receive justice for the violation of their son's memory.
