Speaking about the state's commitment to promoting skill development, OSDA chairperson Alka Misra mentioned the 'Skilled In Odisha' initiative launched by the government. This program aims to equip the youth of Odisha with essential skills and make them globally competitive. The next major challenge for Odisha's skilled team is to represent the state at the WorldSkills competition to be held in Lyon, France, in September.

The IndiaSkills 2024 competition was organized by the National Skill Development Corporation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It witnessed a participation of over 900 contestants from various states and union territories, competing in nine different centers across four cities in India.
