He proudly stated that Odisha has become a major attraction for investors, with 40% of the country's total domestic investment coming to the state in the current financial year. The CM also expressed how apart from the mineral industry, Odisha has now become a sought-after destination for investment in the textile and apparel sector.
He stressed on the immense potential for employment in the textile industry, especially in rural areas and for economically backward sections of society. As a testament to his commitment to the sector, Majhi announced an increase in employment cost subsidies under the Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022, from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per month for male workers and from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month for female workers.
The CM also shared his vision of making O-TEX an annual event, showcasing the state's rich handloom legacy and its progress in modern textiles, apparel, and technical textiles. He assured the investors of full support from the government and announced the formation of a dedicated task force under the industries department to promote the sector. In his closing remarks, Majhi proudly stated that with world-class infrastructure, progressive policies, and a skilled workforce, Odisha is creating unparalleled opportunities for investors and livelihoods for its people.
