Nushrratt Bharucha and her team had a very special evening as they hosted the premiere of their film Akelli. It was a night of glamour and smiles as select industry friends and colleagues came to support the cast and crew.
Nushrratt plays Jyoti Arora, an Indian working girl based in Mosul, Iraq, while Nishant stars in the film as Jyoti's colleague Rafique. Tsahi Halevi of Fauda fame makes an appearance in the film as the principle antagonist Assad. Pranay Meshram has directed the film.
The stars of the night certainly dressed to impress. Kriti Kharbanda arrived in a mint green dress paired with beige pumps, while Filmmaker Luv Ranjan was at his most comfortable in white kurta and pyjama. Sonnalli Seygall looked stunning in her ombre skirt and top ensemble. Sunny Singh had us wondering why he seldom smiles, while Omkar Kapoor pulled off a neat white polo paired with denims. Sandeepa Dhar did a fine job with the denim-on-denim trend.
The guest list was packed with familiar faces. Sunil Grover had an eventful night for sure attending two premieres. Ayush Mehra and his unmistakable smile were also present, as well as Sharad Kelkar who turned on his charm. It was quite a surprise to spot Ajinkya Deo, Gaurav Gera was all smiles for the camera, Ranvir Shorey was sporting his full-length beard with elan, and J D Majethia arrived with his statement hat. Last but not least, producer Jayantilal Gada arrived with his wife Hansa.
The reviews for Akelli are in and they are positive. Nushrratt is being praised for her brave move to go out of her comfort zone and explore a different character. It is certainly an interesting survival drama that is worth checking out.
