Newly discovered music from GTA 5's scrapped Trevor DLC provides insight into the canceled expansion.
There has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of story DLC being brought back for GTA 6. Recently, an unreleased piece of music surfaced online, believed to be from a cancelled story expansion for GTA 5. This has sparked even more curiosity about what could have been.

Despite its incredible success as the top-selling traditional video game of all time, GTA 5 did not follow in the footsteps of its predecessors and receive any single-player DLC. It has been known for some time that Rockstar had plans for story DLC before the massive success of GTA Online took over their focus. In fact, even the voice actor for Trevor, Steven Ogg, confirmed that he had recorded scenes for an expansion where Trevor would have been a secret agent.

Unfortunately, this expansion, along with others that were discovered by dataminers, never saw the light of day. However, a recent Twitter post by the GTA fan page GTA Focal has shed more light on this cancelled DLC. The post shared a track called "Clifford" by the music duo Sweet Valley, claiming that it was from the unused story DLC for Trevor.

Sweet Valley is made up of brothers Nathan and Kynan Williams, with Nathan being best known as a member of the band Wavves. In fact, Wavves has a few songs featured in GTA 5, and Nathan also hosts the game's Vinewood Boulevard radio station. Interestingly, the "Clifford" track was originally posted on Sweet Valley's Patreon in 2021, with the duo stating that they had written music for a GTA 5 expansion, including this particular track.

Reddit user HeySlickThatsMe clarified that the track was named "Clifford 2 May 29," implying that it was the second track created for the DLC. The name "Clifford" has also been linked to Trevor's story expansion in the past, and it even made its way into the game officially as the name of the AI network in the Doomsday Heist for GTA Online.

It is not clear which "Clifford" came first, but it seems that many of the concepts and elements planned for the cancelled DLC were repurposed for the Doomsday Heist. This means that the chances of Rockstar revisiting and completing the planned Trevor expansion are extremely low.

However, there is hope for fans of single-player DLC as there have been rumors that GTA 6 will include it. But, given that this was also the original plan for GTA 5, there is no guarantee that it will actually happen. In the meantime, Trevor has found himself back in the spotlight with the discovery of this unused music track.
