Danya Mohammed Almulla, better known as Diva Dee on the popular Netflix series Dubai Bling, recently shared a personal struggle she faced during her third pregnancy. She described the condition she experienced as something she wouldn't even wish on her worst enemy.
The influencer and her husband, DJ Bliss, surprised fans and co-stars with the news of their pregnancy at the end of the third season. Throughout filming, the couple kept it a secret and Danya has now opened up about the difficult few weeks she endured in the early stages.
At 33 years old and already a mother to two children, Danya was faced with a rare condition called Hyperemesis gravidarum. This condition is more severe than the typical morning sickness and can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, weight loss, faintness, and dehydration. It affects around 1-3% of pregnant women and was also experienced by Kate Middleton.
Danya explained that she had to hide her pregnancy from her co-stars and fans while filming the show. "I was feeling unwell but couldn't tell anyone I was pregnant," she said. Her co-stars thought she was causing drama by not attending events, but in reality, she was secretly battling with her condition.
The condition started before she even knew she was pregnant, and Danya initially thought it was just food poisoning. "I was in the emergency room every single week. They knew me by name. I even lost six kilograms," she shared with Harper's Bazaar.
The unexpected and intense symptoms of Hyperemesis gravidarum took Danya by surprise as she didn't experience it during her previous pregnancies. "The crazy thing is, you don't even look pregnant, but you're so sick," she said. "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I'm lucky that I only had it until I was five months pregnant."
Fortunately, her newborn daughter was born healthy, and Danya's husband and two older children are overjoyed with the new addition to their family. The star has been a part of all three seasons of Dubai Bling, alongside other familiar faces such as Loujain 'LJ' Adada, Kris Fade, Farhana Bodi, and Safa Siddiqui.
