Nella Rose confronts Nigel Farage in a passionate exchange of ideas.
I’m A Celebrity’s Nella Rose has grilled Nigel Farage over his controversial policies, with the former UKIP leader and politician's inclusion in the ITV reality show sparking huge backlash. Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly made a savage dig about Farage moments into the new series, while Josie Gibson also mocked his Brexit campaign.

On Sunday night, YouTuber Nella confronted the GB News host, over his right-wing immigration policies. Farage was a key player in Brexit, including his party releasing an anti-immigrant poster that suggested that immigration was at ‘Breaking Point’ as part of the Leave campaign in 2016.

Nella asked Nigel if he was anti-immigrant, and why he was largely hated by the general public. Farage replied that he was not anti-immigrant, and that people were making unfair accusations. He said, “You can disagree with somebody, but to chuck around accusations the way they’ve been chucked around is grossly unfair. All I’ve said is we cannot go on with the numbers coming to Britain that are coming.”

Nella continued to push the point, asking Farage what was ‘so wrong’ about immigrants, pointing out that they were a ‘good thing’ and had contributed massively to British society. Farage claimed that immigrants were the problem with a lack of GP appointments, to which Nella retorted that the NHS was lacking funding.

The pair eventually decided to ‘agree to disagree’, with Nella concluding that she ‘really liked’ Farage in the jungle and wanted to get to the bottom of why he was universally hated.

Nella's confrontation with Farage follows her explosive row with Fred Sirieix from First Dates. Fred had said he could be her dad because of their ages, as he is 51 and she is 26 – but Nella, who lost both her mum and her dad at a young age, was massively hurt by the comment.

I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow on ITV and ITVX at 9pm. Celebrities have slammed Farage’s casting in the show, with Lorraine Kelly saying on her chat show she ‘personally thinks it is wrong’ for him to be in the jungle, while Jason Manford announced his decision to boycott the series again.
So far, this season has suffered from a slump in viewing figures, with the opening episode pulling in an average of 7 million, compared to the 9.1 million who tuned in for the show’s launch last year.
