Neighbour fined for throwing dog waste onto neighbour's property after ongoing dispute.
A neighbour with a dispute who tossed bags of dog excrement over the fence was handed a court bill of over £1,000 after appearing in South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court in Bedlington. Michael Shell, 51, had a long-running feud with the victims living beside him in Cramlington, Northumberland. Unaware of who was responsible for the offensive act, they installed CCTV and identified Shell as the offender. When they confronted him, Shell reacted angrily and pushed the female occupant of the house, resulting in her being knocked backwards into the hallway. He pleaded guilty to harassment and common assault at the hearing and was fined £707, as well as having to pay £85 costs and a £283 victim surcharge. The prosecutor said that the couple had been having issues with the defendant for some time, and that the CCTV footage captured Shell throwing bags of dog excrement over the fence into their garden. When the female victim told him that the police would be informed, Shell left the scene.

An infuriated neighbour who chucked bags of canine excrement over the adjacent fence has been given a court expense of more than £1,000.

Michael Shell, 51, was embroiled in a continuous dispute with his victims, who live next to him in Cramlington, Northumberland.

They ascertained him as the perpetrator after putting in place CCTV to discover who was behind the repulsive act, presuming it was going by dog-walkers.

When they confronted Shell about it, he went around to their front entrance and shoved it against the female occupant, causing her to be pushed back into the hallway.

He confessed to harassment and common assault committed in October last year at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court.

Gurjot Kaur, prosecuting, said: ‘The complainants and the defendant are neighbours and they have had ongoing issues with the defendant for some time.

‘Between October 12 and October 14, they state that bags of dog excrement were being thrown into their garden.

The court fined Shell £707 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £283 victim surcharge

‘They do not own a dog and they initially thought it was passers-by responsible, so they installed CCTV and it caught this defendant’s conduct of tossing the bags over his fence and into their garden.

‘As a result, the defendant is confronted by [the complainants] shouting over the back garden fence.

‘On October 14, the defendant visited their front door. [The female victim] tells the defendant to go away and that the police would be notified.
