Nadda to attend Odisha BJP meeting on Friday
The Odisha BJP is all set to hold its first executive committee meeting in Puri from July 19, following the formation of its government in the state. This significant event will be graced by the presence of the party's national president, JP Nadda, who will be joining the members for discussions and decisions. However, it was earlier expected that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would also be in attendance, but due to health concerns, he will not be able to make it, as informed by party functionary Manmohan Samal during a press conference on Tuesday.

According to Samal, the two-day meeting was originally scheduled to have Rajnath Singh as a guest, but now Nadda will be taking his place due to the former's unavailability. The meeting will see the presence of various important individuals, including coordinators for Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, district presidents, officials of different fronts, Chief Minister, state ministers, all party MLAs and MPs, as well as union ministers from the state, as revealed by BJP's state vice president, Biranchi Tripathy.

Tripathy further stated that the main agenda of the meeting will be to chart out a roadmap for the party, now that it holds a position in the state's government. The members will also discuss the current political situation and other crucial aspects, including welfare programs, in order to prepare a draft for the future course of action. He added that the BJP is determined to make a 'Viksit' Odisha and will do whatever is necessary to achieve this goal.

According to sources within the BJP, there may also be a review of the Assembly segments where the party's candidates lost by a narrow margin. In the recently held elections, the saffron party emerged victorious on 78 out of 147 seats in the Assembly, while also securing 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The meeting is expected to be a crucial step in the party's plans to shape the future of Odisha.
