Ujjain is bustling with activity as more than 1 crore 7 lakh devotees have visited Lord Mahakaleshwar since July 4th in the month of Shravan. Sandeep Kumar Soni, the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee administrator and additional collector, reported that the head count device installed by Smart City has informed that an impressive number of devotees had visited the temple in the past month.
On the 13th of August, around 3 lakh 20 thousand 140 devotees had darshan of Shri Mahakaleshwar Bhagwan till 5 PM. Additionally, 43 thousand 2 hundred 53 devotees had darshan of Baba in Shri Mahakaleshwar Bhagwan’s Chalit Bhasmarti during the wee hours of Sunday.
Due to 'Adhikaas', a total of 10 rides are being taken out from the temple, the last ride or royal procession will be taken out on September 11th. It is expected that more devotees will arrive in Ujjain in the upcoming month for the same.
The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple has a system for quick darshan to provide convenience to the visitors. Devotees can pay a fee of Rs 250 each and receive a receipt in exchange for a quick darshan of Shri Mahakaleshwar Bhagwan. According to reports, the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee has received Rs 5 crore 84 lakh 24 thousand 2 hundred 50 from July 1st to August 10th from this early Darshan system.
Counters of Rs 250 have been set-up by Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in several convenient locations, such as at the temple administrative office at door number 1, in Annakshetra near Shri Bada Ganesh Temple, at door number 4 and at Mansarovar protocol office.
