Mollie Pearce, known for her role in The Traitors, recently revealed that she had to put a pause on her training for Dancing On Ice due to an injury. The 22-year-old became a fan-favorite during the second season of the show, where she made it to the final as a Faithful. However, she was met with a shocking betrayal from winner Harry Clark, who walked away with the grand prize of £95,150.
Now, Mollie is taking on a new challenge as she joins the line-up for the popular ITV skating competition. Alongside other celebrities such as Sir Steve Redgrave and Ferne McCann, she is ready to hit the ice. However, before she could even start her training with pro partner Colin Grafton, she had to postpone due to a nasty injury.
In an interview with The Sun, Mollie shared, "Before I met Colin, I actually fractured my wrist. So we were off the ice for four weeks. We had some tough days with that. I think we were really excited to get back on, and you know, it felt like a big setback." But despite the setback, Mollie and Colin were able to make the most of their time by practicing in a dance studio and getting to know each other better.
Mollie, who is a disability model, hopes to inspire others with disabilities by participating in Dancing On Ice. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 11, which led to her having her colon removed and wearing a stoma bag. She was also born with no fingers on her right hand. Mollie shared, "The reaction from it has been amazing, and obviously Adele last year did so much for the stoma community. So hopefully I'm going to continue that, and with limb differences as well, with regards to spreading awareness, and just to show people you can do anything."
On The Traitors last year, Mollie openly talked about the surgery she had at the age of 18, raising awareness for people with stoma bags and limb differences. She shared, "I've spent most of my life, since I was 11, quite unwell. I wanted to advocate for people with a limb difference and a stoma. If I look at myself three years ago, I couldn't even leave the house at points, so to now be here running around with you guys is kind of crazy."
Unfortunately, Mollie missed out on the final prize on The Traitors, as Harry Clark walked away with the fund. However, Mollie remains determined to use her platform to spread awareness and inspire others. She added, "Since my surgery, I've got my life back, I realised I could wear what I wanted, I could go out, I could enjoy myself. It completely changed my life."
