Monday, Nov. 21: District in-charge Minister Bosaraju performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the upgradation of the Masagodu-Valley connection road, which was a long-standing demand of several villagers of Nerugalle and Kudige gram panchayats.
The road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore, and hundreds of villagers with bullock carts had staged a massive protest in Somwarpet town for this road. Some time later, a new asphalt road was constructed from Masagodu village to Negalle village on the Somwarpet-Banavar state highway. Otherwise, the road was in a very bad condition. Vehicular traffic was difficult.
Now, a grant of Rs 15 crore has been released for the road from Masagodu, Areyur, Hosalli, and Kanive Marg. District in-charge Minister Bose Raju participated in the Bhoomi Puja program held in Areyur and inaugurated the work.
Speaking later, he said that quality should be given top priority in road work. Engineers should ensure that poor work is not done. There is no question of forgiving if it is done poorly. The road work will start in three to four days. The work should be completed within 100 days. 4 to the fifth page
For the first time in history, the government has provided a grant of Rs 15 crore for road work in these villages. He said that it is commendable that the MLAs understood the road problems of the villagers and provided the grant.
After the last 25 years, the people of Kodagu have elected Congress MLAs Dr. Mantar Gowda and A.S. Ponnanna. He said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is fulfilling the demands of the two MLAs.

The district MLAs have succeeded in convincing the Chief Minister, Revenue and Forest Ministers about the issue of farmers' C&D land. The government has formed a high-level committee. The government will ensure that the farmers are not inconvenienced. He reassured them that there is no need to worry.
MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda said that the Chief Minister and the Minister of Public Works Department have fulfilled our demand. The villagers had fought many times for the road. I had promised to provide the road to the villagers; He said that he has kept his word by giving a grant of Rs. 15 crores.
Rs. 3.50 crores will be provided for the construction of a bridge on this road. Farmers of Negalle village have been demanding a road for decades, and Rs. 35 lakhs have been provided as a grant. The work on the Somwarpet-Tholoorushettalli, Koothi road is underway. The work on the iron bridge has started. He said that more attention will be paid to the development of the area.
