Microsoft's investment in Modern Warfare 3's beta has been a disappointment to fans.
I regret to say that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was a huge disappointment. I used to love COD back in the Xbox 360 days and it had its fair share of great games. It kept its quality up surprisingly well given the yearly sequels. I thought Black Ops 3 was the last one that I was properly into. But I still decided to pre-order Modern Warfare 3, despite my better judgement, in order to see the end of the story.

It turns out that the game was not worth it. All the changes that were made to the multiplayer were for the worse. The maps had a light remaster, but they were still filled with camping sites. The spawn points were completely random, making it impossible to come up with any kind of strategy. And the lack of recoil on guns, the terrible visibility and colour saturation, and a TTK so slow it feels like you’re fighting with a potato gun all added to the disappointment.

It's a shame that Call Of Duty is at its lowest point just as Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard for $69 billion. I'm sure they have big plans for bringing it back to its former glory, but that's going to take at least five years. By that point, I'm sure they'll be having serious second thoughts about the whole deal.

I should've known better than to pre-order Modern Warfare 3. I'm definitely going to think twice next time. It's clear that they saw me coming and it's not what Microsoft wants to hear after spending so much money. All I can say is, if you're thinking of getting Call of Duty, do your research first and make sure it's worth it.
