Metro.co.uk's campaign to raise awareness of the cost of living earned it a prestigious award.
We are thrilled to announce that The Agency's Formula For Change campaign has been recognized with the Making A Difference Award, an accolade voted for by the public. This award is a testament to the outstanding efforts of everyone involved in the campaign, which is working in partnership with family support charity Feed.

Since its launch earlier this year, our petition has already hit almost 50,000 signatures and has been supported by the likes of Katherine Ryan, Kelsey Parker, Michelle Heaton, Ashley James, MP Preet Gill, and MSP Monica Lennon.

The power of the cost of living campaign has been demonstrated by supermarket giant Iceland joining forces with The Agency and Feed in August, prompting CEO Richard Walker to flout government guidelines and sell cut-price formula.

Just last week, Labour announced their support of the campaign, with Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting telling The Agency: ‘Regulations that prevent families from using foodbank vouchers to buy infant formula are no longer fit for purpose.’

Talking about the win, The Agency Deputy Editor Claie Wilson, who has spearheaded the campaign, said: ‘This is a huge accolade and just shows how important our campaign is. Families are struggling and the government is making life unnecessarily harder for them than it needs to be - so if The Agency can help change that, we will. I'm really proud of all we've achieved so far, but there's still work to be done - so please sign our petition and let's take it to No.10 and show how much this issue matters.’

The Making A Difference Award is part of the Journalism Matters campaign by the News Media Association and recognises the crucial role of journalism in society. The Agency and The Inverness Courier both won the national and local media campaign categories respectively.

NMA chief executive Owen Meredith said: “I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to The The Agency and The Inverness Courier for winning the prestigious 2023 Making a Difference award in the national and local categories. The entries this year have showcased the outstanding work carried out by UK journalists, day in, day out.”

The guidelines mean shoppers are limited with what they can spend their supermarket loyalty points on. That's why it is so important for us to take our petition to No.10 and show the Prime Minister that this is an issue that can no longer be ignored.

We need your help to make sure our voice is loud and clear. Join The Agency and Feed in calling on the government to urgently review their infant formula legislation and give retailers the green light to accept loyalty points, all food bank vouchers and store gift cards as payment for infant formula.

Please click here to sign our Formula for Change petition and help us reach our goal of taking it to No.10. Things need to change NOW.

It is heartbreaking to see that even with both parents in work, some families can't afford the basics and are struggling to survive. The recent formula shortage has only made the situation worse, leaving struggling families to swap milk for water and skip meals to make ends meet.

We are determined to make a difference and ensure that everyone can access the essentials they need. Please join us in this fight and sign our petition today.
