Max Bowden will be leaving EastEnders in the spring of 2024, after four years of playing Ben Mitchell. His character has been played by a few actors over the years, so it's not expected that Ben will be killed off in his departure storyline.
The EastEnders spokesperson confirmed the news to The Agency, saying: “Max will be leaving EastEnders next year. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Back in September, Max told us at the Inside Soap Awards that Ben's storyline would be quite different this year. He said, “It’s going to be an interesting year I think – and very different!”
Max Bowden's character has undergone a difficult year with his bulimia storyline, which made his recent fundraiser for the SEED eating disorder charity especially meaningful.
