Manchester United have agreed a deal with Atalanta to sign 20-year-old striker Rasmus Hojlund. The deal is worth €70 million with add-ons, and Hojlund is set to sign a five-year deal with an option of an additional year at Old Trafford.
This move comes after United submitted an offer of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons for the Denmark international. Paris Saint-Germain had also lodged a €50 million bid, but Hojlund chose United as his preferred destination. Erik ten Hag had identified Hojlund as a top target after it became clear that the club would be priced out of a move for Harry Kane.
As a sign that the move was imminent, Hojlund did not feature in Atalanta's pre-season action against Bournemouth on Saturday. To make up for the loss of the striker, Atalanta have confirmed the signing of El Bilal Toure from Spanish side Almeria in a €30 million deal, which is a club record signing.
The transfer is set to become Manchester United's third signing of the summer, with more to follow.
