A frantic search is currently underway for a man who went missing after a boat capsized off the coast of NSW Hunter last night. The small boat, which was carrying four men, overturned at around 7:50pm near Channel Street in Swansea, throwing its passengers into the water.
Thankfully, passengers on a passing boat were able to rescue three of the men, including two 23-year-olds and a 20-year-old, at Dobinson Drive. They were later treated by paramedics at the scene, with one of the 23-year-olds being taken to the hospital due to hypothermia.
Unfortunately, one man, also aged 23, is still missing and a multi-agency search has been launched this morning to find him. The boat's captain, who is also 23 years old, has been taken to the hospital for mandatory testing.
Teams from the Marine Area Command, PolAir, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, and Fire and Rescue NSW are all participating in the search for the missing man. If anyone has any information about the incident, they are urged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
