According to authorities, the 27-year-old man was able to enter the house on Clifford Street in Port Melbourne at around 11:40 PM through an unlocked door. Once inside, he reportedly took the phone from under the man's pillow without waking him up.
Fortunately, the 13-year-old girl noticed the intrusion and immediately alerted the police. They quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect in the backyard of the property. Thankfully, no one was physically harmed during the incident. After questioning the man, who is from Redbank, authorities have stated that he will likely face charges of aggravated burglary and theft.
