Madikeri, Apr. 17; Madikeri Block Youth Congress and Madikeri City Congress office bearers have alleged that the people of Madikeri city are being supplied dirty water mixed with garbage through the Municipal Corporation.
Speaking at a press conference, City Youth Congress General Secretary Kochan Chethan; When a fight broke out on the roadside in front of the Municipal Corporation at around 10 pm last night, when he rushed there, he saw that there was a fight between civic workers and traders over the issue of putting garbage in the garbage vehicle. The civic workers were saying that garbage should not be put in the vehicle.
When asked about this, he replied that the vehicle contained alum and bleaching chemicals used in the purification plant that supplies drinking water to Madikeri city, so garbage should not be put in. When checked, alum and bleaching were found among the pile of rotten garbage. The civic workers said that chemicals have been supplied in garbage vehicles in the past. Therefore, they accused the municipality of supplying sewage water mixed with garbage to the people of Madikeri.
Is there no other vehicle in the municipality to supply chemicals? They questioned whether the municipality officials and people's representatives had not noticed this issue; they demanded that appropriate action be taken in this regard. There are no other arrangements for those who do business at night in the city to dispose of their garbage. Therefore, they put it in garbage vehicles. They demanded that arrangements be made for them to dispose of garbage.
Madikeri Block Youth Congress President Kavan Kotholi spoke; By supplying chemicals in garbage vehicles, it is as if sewage water is being given to the people. He questioned whether the officials and representatives were not informed about this, and the municipality president should answer this. He demanded that the president and the chairman of the health standing committee resign from their positions.
