I have visited five times, but it wasn't until my most recent trip that I discovered the private island of Isola delle Rose. Located just a 15-minute shuttle ride or a private water taxi ride away from the city center, this island is a favorite of A-list celebrities.
The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa is the only accommodation on Isola delle Rose. It is a 40-acre luxury hideaway surrounded by olive groves and gardens. Upon arrival, you will be taken directly to the lobby by a boat. This is a great opportunity to experience a little bit of James Bond style glamour!
The resort offers a wide range of amenities, including a stunning church, three pools, and a heavenly spa. At night, the spa is especially tranquil and provides the perfect opportunity to relax after a day of exploring Venice.
The resort's restaurant, Agli Amici Dopolavoro, is a great place to sample some of the local cuisine. The menu is inspired by the home grown vegetable garden on the island and the fresh fish caught nearby. The eleven courses I had were some of the best I have ever tasted. The luscious aperitifs, perfectly prepared oysters, rose risotto, and white chocolate soil dessert was truly a unique dining experience. Not to mention the wonderful tableside Negroni and the excellent wine pairings.

Isola delle Rose is a hidden gem, but definitely worth discovering. From the relaxing spa to the incredible gastronomic journey, I can't recommend it highly enough.
