Luther Vandross Estate has collaborated with Waterford to create two luxury crystal collections.

The late R&B music icon Luther Vandross continues to be remembered in new ways. His estate recently announced a special edition collaboration between Luther Vandross and Waterford, the renowned Irish hand-crafted luxury crystal company.

The two collections, Luther 81 and the limited-edition Luther 81 X, were inspired by Vandross' platinum single "Never Too Much." The commercial for the collection captures the joy that Vandross' music still brings decades after its release. The luxury crystal glasses made in his honor are meant to inspire that same joy.

Pieces in the collection include glasses for cocktails, martinis, champagne, and a lavish cocktail shaker. A limited-edition decanter is also available, as well as a unique crystal art piece commemorating Luther’s double-platinum album. The 12-inch wall-mounted crystal disc features 81 polished precision-cut track grooves with the singer’s signature hand-etched into the center.

The decanter was the first piece to sell out, with the proceeds going to benefit the Luther Vandross Foundation. Each piece in the collection also features a karo cut design highlighting a line from Luther’s song along with a single hand-cut karo kiss on its base. It was during the Foundation’s inaugural luncheon in April when the one-of-a-kind crystal piece was marked with ‘kiss cuts’.

The collection is a fitting tribute to Luther Vandross. “Luther Vandross’ genuine affinity for crystal always mirrored the crystal-clear quality of his voice and spirit,” said Fruggiero.
