Lil Wayne says he's too individual to be fooled by AI.
As the cover star for Billboard's 50th Hip-Hop celebration, it's clear that rapper Lil Wayne isn't too worried about the rise of Artificial Intelligence. In fact, in an interview he said that AI stands no chance of duplicating his voice.

"I'm like, is this AI thing going to be amazing too? Because I am naturally, organically amazing," Wayne said. "I'm one of a kind. So actually, I would love to see that thing try to duplicate this motherf–ker."

It's no surprise that the New Orleans legend is so confident in himself. His real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. and he's been rapping since the age of 11. In fact, he's never even had a "real job" in his life.

"I've literally been doing this since 7 or 8 years old. And I signed at 11. So, I've never had a real job…besides this," he said. "So I've been living my dreams ever since, and I just been making sure I maintain and keep going."

Former NWA member and actor Ice Cube agrees with Wayne's sentiment. He once called AI "demonic" and was annoyed by a viral AI track which imitated Young Money rapper Drake's flow.

"I think AI is gonna get a backlash from real people, real authentic people," Cube said. "I think that's terrible. Drake should sue whoever made it."

Wayne also believes that there's certain things technology won't be able to touch, like mixtapes.

"Mixtapes can mean an album mix or anything now," he said. "But when it comes to Lil Wayne, everybody knows how I approach mixtapes. So my mixtapes won't ever change."

It's clear that Lil Wayne believes that there's certain things that technology will never be able to touch. His confidence and belief in himself is admirable, and it's no wonder why he's been a success in the hip-hop industry since he was 11 years old.
