She decides to thank the officer and ask for his forgiveness.
As Bernie begins to realize the gravity of her son's illness, she becomes determined to be a part of his life before it's too late. She marches down to the police station to make a complaint, only to discover that it's Kit's birthday and he's a police officer. Later, when Billy almost has an accident while trying to park in a disabled spot, Kit comes to the rescue and forces the other driver to find another space. After the operation, Bernie calls the police station to thank Kit for his kindness and asks him to hear her out. Will Kit allow Bernie into his life before it's too late?
