Lidl, the popular budget supermarket, has some exciting news for its fans. For the next few weeks, they have the opportunity to snag some amazing freebies. And if they're quick, they could even win up to £100 worth of items from the store.
In a surprising move, Lidl is launching their own Christmas Cola truck to compete with the iconic Coca-Cola one. This 15 tonne, 20 metre long Freeway Cola truck will be embarking on a tour of Great Britain starting from November 14. It will be making stops in cities like Dundee, Hull, Wolverhampton, Bournemouth, and Southampton, giving people the chance to score some fantastic freebies.
The truck has been dubbed as a "wish-granting" truck by Lidl, and it will be giving out more than 2,000 Middle Aisle present boxes. These boxes are similar to the mystery boxes that were sold in August for £20 each, but this time, they are completely free! The contents of each box will be different, with some having a value of up to £100. And to make things even more exciting, one in every 10 boxes will contain a golden ticket worth £100, which can be used for a Christmas shopping trip at Lidl.
But that's not all. At each stop, Lidl will also be hosting a pop-up wonderland where visitors can submit a wish that would make their Christmas magical. The retailer will then grant a number of these wishes, making dreams big or small come true.
And as if that wasn't enough, Lidl will also be giving away festive food at each stop, and guests can even step inside a life-size present box and ring a bell for surprise treats like Snowmallows and festive biscuits.
To celebrate the tour, Lidl's Christmas ad will feature the Freeway truck, driven by a character known as "Nick." Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB, expressed the importance of giving back to the communities they serve and how the Freeway truck allows them to do just that.
The tour will run from November 14 to December 1, visiting nine locations from 12pm to 6pm. Lidl fans can follow the journey and check if their city is on the route by visiting lidl.co.uk/freeway_tour. The tour will make stops in cities like Dundee, Harrogate, Hull, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Wrexham, Luton, Bournemouth, and Southampton.
In addition to this exciting tour, Lidl also announced plans to open 10 new stores across the UK by the end of 2024. These stores will create up to 400 job opportunities and help solidify the brand's presence in areas like Bristol, Devon, Birmingham, and London. Three existing stores will also be refurbished and extended to better serve customers.
