Madikeri, Mar. 23: A one-day farmer training programme on “Improved Agricultural Technologies for Sustainable Pepper and Ginger Production” was organized at ICAR-Indian Spices Research Institute, Appangala, sponsored by Directorate of Areca and Spices Development-Kozhikode.

Speaking at the inauguration of the programme, Director of Areca and Spices Development Directorate, Dr. Homi Cherian, introduced the activities of DASD and stressed the importance of value addition in spice crops.

About 150 farmers from different districts of Karnataka participated in this training program. An exhibition was also organized to showcase the varieties and technologies of spice crops developed by the organization for the benefit of farmers.
