Lamar Odom is making it a family affair with his new business venture. The NBA champion recently welcomed his son, Lamar Odom Jr., 21, and daughter, Destiny Odom, 25, to the team at Odom Recovery Group.
The recovery group is rapidly expanding with centers throughout Southern California. Lamar Jr. is shadowing his dad and learning the ins and outs of client representation as a marketing consultant. Meanwhile, Destiny is handling the client intake process and helping patients transition into their recovery journeys.
It’s clear Lamar is using this opportunity to bond with his children, who have been living with him full-time since May. His ex-wife, the mother of Destiny and Lamar Jr., has also gotten involved in working for the recovery group.
The former Los Angeles Laker launched Odom Recovery Group earlier this year to aid those battling addiction. The centers offer support through detox, inpatient facilities, outpatient programming, and transitional supportive housing.
Lamar’s mission is to “give back” and help others benefit from the same program that inspired his recovery. He’s partnered with Restoration Recovery Center to open four facilities in California. This is all part of Lamar’s mission to help combat substance abuse after his near-fatal overdose in 2015.
His representative said, “He wants to help everyone he can. He is thankful that he was given a second chance at his life and feels his destiny is to help others.” In July, Lamar expanded his business portfolio and opened a senior care center company inspired by his grandmother.
It’s clear Lamar is using his experience to make a positive impact on the lives of others. With his family by his side, he’s on a mission to make a difference.
