Virajpet, Jul. 8: The 2nd Additional District and Sessions Court of Virajpet has sentenced a laborer to life imprisonment in a murder case.
Incident details: Bolaka, wife Bolachi, Raghu and Ayyappa, a beekeeper, lived in the line house of the coffee plantation of Tadiyangada M. Thammaiah, a resident of Churikad in Kutta K. Badaga village in Ponnampet taluk. On 23/03/2021, the owner of the plantation went to the line house and gave the advance payment for the week's wages to the workers. On that day, the three workers Bolaka, Raghu and Ayyappa went to fish in the pond belonging to the plantation. They caught fish till evening and returned home. Later, they started sharing the fish. Ayyappa got into a fight with Bolaka and got angry and Bolaka attacked Ayyappa with a sword in the house. As a result, Ayyappa's body fell to the ground covered in blood. Seeing this, the worker Raghu informed the owner about this. The owner immediately took Ayyappa to Veerajpet Hospital in his vehicle. Ayyappa died on the way to Mysore after being given first aid. The Kutta police, accepting the complaint filed by the owner of the plantation, investigated and arrested Pani Eravara Bolaka. Kutta Circle Inspector Parasivamurthy, who conducted the investigation, had filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court.
Virajpet 2nd Additional District and Sessions Court Judge S. Nataraju, who heard the case, sentenced Pani Eravara Bolaka to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25,000.
