Kevin Bacon demolished part of his home due to believing it was haunted.
Kevin Bacon recently opened up about why he was so worried about ghosts in his house. The Footloose actor, 65, shared the spooky reason he had to tear down part of his property on Rob Lowe's Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast.

Bacon explained that he originally bought the estate back in 1983 and there was a condition attached. The previous owner wouldn't sell it to him unless he promised to knock down the outhouse. He then went on to describe his eerie encounter with the abandoned house on the land.

“One of the pieces that we bought had an old house in it and [the owner] didn’t want me to own the house. It was an abandoned house that he had grown up in," Bacon said.

He then revealed why the owner was so adamant about him following his instructions. He feared that Bacon would ‘get possessed’ and ‘do some serious damage’ in the haunted house.

The actor then revealed that he had even called ghostbusters to investigate the property. After hearing his story, Rob Lowe asked Bacon if he had ever spent a night in the spooky outhouse.

“Not only did I not do that, but I went up there and there were some beautiful old pine boards and a banister and I said to [my wife] Kyra [Sedgwick], “We’ve gotta take those out”,” Bacon replied.

He then went into more detail about why the property was believed to have been haunted. According to the previous keyholder, a colonial soldier had murdered a Native American on the site during the 1700s.

It's clear that Bacon had a very chilling experience with his property. Thankfully, he was able to take the necessary precautions to make sure he and his family were safe.
