In upcoming scenes, EastEnders fans will see Linda Carter, played by the legendary Kellie Bright, facing her worst nightmare. As if the guilt of stabbing Keanu Taylor to death on Christmas Day wasn't enough, Linda's secret has become increasingly difficult to keep. Thankfully, her friends- known as The Six- have been there to support her and keep her deadly secret hidden.
But, just when Linda thought she could breathe a sigh of relief, she is faced with yet another challenge. Grieving Bernie Taylor announces that Keanu's funeral is coming up, and asks if they could hold the wake at the Vic. Before Linda can even object, her worst nightmare becomes a reality as Elaine Peacock agrees to the request.
Actress Kellie Bright explains, "Elaine agrees before Linda can say anything, and of course for Linda, it is her worst nightmare. So she's worrying about how she's going to get through the day." The thought of Keanu's funeral and the memories it will bring up is a never-ending nightmare for Linda, especially since she thought the framing of Dean was the end of it all.
As Linda struggles to cope with the overwhelming emotions and guilt, she turns to drinking, much to her son Johnny Carter's concern. In an attempt to escape from her son's watchful eye, Linda plans to tell her best friend Sharon Watts about Keanu's funeral. However, it becomes clear that Linda has no intention of doing so, as she just wants to drink and forget about her troubles.
Thankfully, Sharon steps in and takes matters into her own hands by booking Linda into an AA meeting. Kellie Bright reveals, "I think it's because Linda has so much guilt around Keanu that she listens to Sharon. She feels that she owes Sharon, and will always owe her something. She would do things for Sharon that she wouldn't do for herself, even."
With Sharon's help, Linda may finally be on the road to recovery. But, the question remains, will she be able to overcome her worst nightmare and find peace? Fans will have to tune in to find out.
