Just played EA Sports FC 25 for 2 hours, new modes are awesome!
Have you heard about the upcoming EA Sports FC 25? We were lucky enough to get our hands on it and try out some of its new features, including Rush mode, FC IQ, and the revamped tactics system.

If you've been keeping up with the trailers and sneak peeks from EA, you may have noticed that this year's football game is going to be quite different from its predecessor. They've added a lot of new elements, such as the 5v5 game mode called Rush, a smarter AI with the new "FC IQ" feature, and a complete overhaul of the tactics system.

Our initial impressions of EA Sports FC 25 are positive. The new features are exciting and the revamped tactics system, along with the FC IQ improvements, offer a fresh and innovative way to play the game.

Rush mode is a blast to play. It's a replacement for the street football mode Volta, but with a more streamlined and intense football experience. The playing field is smaller, with only 5 players on each team, but you still feel the energy of playing in a stadium filled with thousands of cheering fans.

The gameplay in Rush mode is all about one-on-one matchups and using clever passes and dribbles to outsmart the other team. It's fast-paced and intense, but also highly rewarding as you can expect to score more goals than in a traditional 90-minute match.

This new mode is similar to the "Kings League" created by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. However, Rush mode also introduces a "blue card" system, where players who commit serious fouls will be sidelined for a set amount of time. If the opposing team scores while they are off the field, the blue card timer decreases.

While Rush mode is a lot of fun, we can't help but feel that it would benefit from some more creative and unpredictable rules. The "Kings League" has additional cards that can change the game, like one that counts goals as double and another that gives your team an instant penalty shot.

Another major change in EA Sports FC 25 is the revamped tactics system. As soon as you log in, you'll be greeted by Zinedine Zidane in his office, stressing the importance of tactics. The new system is more simplified, with less specific instructions for players and teams. Instead, you assign each player a specific role, similar to Football Manager, like "false nine" or "falseback." You can also give them a focus, whether it's attacking or defensive.

While tinkering with your tactics, you can see how your formation will look both with and without the ball, which is incredibly helpful in finding the right balance.

The changes to the tactics system are supported by the new FC IQ feature, which enhances the AI and makes players' actions more realistic. According to EA, "FC IQ Team Tactics introduces systems used by football's top tacticians and upgrades the football IQ of every player on the pitch." In our limited time playing the game, we found ourselves in new and exciting positional situations on the field.

Another new addition is the "Smart Tactics" messaging system, which offers feedback and suggests substitutions during the game. While it's a nice feature, it didn't seem all that helpful in our experience. The AI kept suggesting substitutions that didn't make sense, and the feedback we received during the game was mostly stating the obvious.

One cool new feature is the POV camera during goal replays, which shows you the goal from the player's perspective. Although we're not sure what triggers it, we definitely want to see more of it.

It's still too early to tell if EA Sports FC 25 will be a significant improvement over its predecessor, but our first impressions are promising, especially with the way the FC IQ and tactics system work together.

The game is set to launch on September 27 for multiple platforms, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We can't wait to see what else EA has in store for us.
