Harlem USA has been famous for its hustling mentality for years. From the jazz-filled decades of the '50s and '60s to the present day, many hip-hop stars and entrepreneurs have emerged from the borough. So when Cam'ron's crew, The Diplomats, AKA Dipset, made an unexpected breakthrough with their hit “We Fly High”, it catapulted Jim Jones into hip-hop superstardom.

Since then, Jones has not been content to stay within the confines of music and TV stardom. He has been driven by his entrepreneurial spirit and ventured into many different avenues, from acting and fashion, to several other businesses. He was previously involved in the spirits business with Sizzurp Liquor, and has re-entered the industry as the Brand Ambassador for Lue Cognac and Jade Sparkling Wine.

In an exclusive interview with BLACK ENTERPRISE, Jones discussed his plans for taking Lue Jade to the next level. He is confident that this time, he has the knowledge and experience that he lacked with Sizzurp. “I wasn’t as knowledgeable as I needed to be when I first got into the game with the liquor business. Now, I’m ready to attack with everything that I didn’t do before and cover all my bases. It should be fun. We gotta put the work in, but we got a bunch of dope ideas. Our creative ideas that we’re gonna start implementing."

Cross-promotion is also a key part of Jones’s strategy for the brand. “Of course, cross-promotion is one of the biggest parts of marketing that we have. To be able to use my likeness with the brand and make it come, make it pop. So anything that I do, most likely, you going to see a couple of bottles around me and everywhere we go from now on.”

The great news is that you don’t have to be a rock star to afford Lue and Jade - the price point is very reasonable. Jones also wants everyone to be able to enjoy the product, saying “It’s a cost-effective brand. We still selling luxury and great taste at the same time. We’re not trying to tap nobody’s pocket. We want everybody to come outside and enjoy it and have a hell of a time.”

Jim Jones is very busy outside of his involvement with Lue Jade. You can catch him on “The Drip Report featuring Weavahman Jim” on Revolt TV. He is also gearing up to launch a digital platform, and has ventured into the marijuana business with Saucey Extracts. He has also created Quarantine Studios, Vamp Fit, Vampire Life Clothing and the VampBerry beverage brand. With his energy and ambition, it looks like the life of a Harlem hustler will never stop.
