Celebrity SAS star James Argent recently quit the series in an emotional scene, revealing gruesome injuries in the process. The former Towie star, 35, was pushed to his limits and reached breaking point while competing in this year’s line-up.
In his latest Instagram dump, Arg shared pictures and a video of his injuries, which included jungle rot, trench foot, and swamp eye. He wrote: “And so my SAS Who Dares Wins journey ends… I left the camp a very broken man but I was content with knowing I went as far physically and mentally as I possibly could & I gave it 110%. Jungle Rot, Trench foot, Swamp eye, You name it I got it lol. I have battle scars that will last a lifetime inside and out but it’s made me a stronger person. I have learnt things about myself that I didn’t know before and will continue to make progress.”
Arg, who had been struggling with addiction, wanted to prove to himself that he could push himself and achieve something. His determination was only strengthened when he was warned to ‘lose weight or die’ after reaching 27 stone, and had a gastric sleeve fitted in 2021.
The current series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has attracted a lot of attention due to the line-up, which includes former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, singer Gareth Gates, Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton, Love Island's Montana Brown, and former footballer Jermaine Pennant.
The show airs on Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4. If you have any celebrity stories, videos, or pictures, get in touch with the The Agency entertainment team.
