Jack Grealish has spoken out about Manchester City's recent losses, asserting that it is not in a crisis. Gabriel Martinelli's deflected effort resulted in a 1-0 win for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side at the Emirates Stadium last Sunday, making it two defeats in the Premier League in a row for City.
These two losses have left City two points behind Arsenal and Tottenham who have both achieved a total of 20 points from eight Premier League games. This is the first time they have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League since 2018 and they have also been eliminated from the Carabao Cup after being beaten by Newcastle United last month.
When asked if this record of three losses in four games is considered a crisis, Jack Grealish was adamant that it is not. He said: "Come on, no chance. We had a great start to the season. We didn't win the Community Shield, but then we won the Super Cup and followed it up with six wins in a row. Rodri's absence has been a big miss for us."
Grealish then went on to discuss how he is trying to get himself back to full fitness. He said: "I come [to England] this week and I've tried to do little bits of extra fitness after training, just to try and help myself get back to full fitness. I feel like when I am fit, I can help any team in the world. As soon as I go back to City, I need to get myself back in that starting XI because towards the end of last season, I was playing every single game so that's how I want it to be."
