It was a tense time in EastEnders as the truth about the Christmas murder finally came out. Kathy Cotton had made a huge mistake that ultimately led to Twisted Nish Panesar finding out what really happened that fateful night. Of course, Nish being Nish, he couldn't resist digging up the truth in the most sneaky way possible.
The women involved in the murder - Kathy, Suki Panesar, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater, and Denise Fox - had not been the best at keeping quiet about what had happened. Nish was now the fourth man from Walford to uncover the truth. As we all know, Linda had fatally stabbed Keanu Taylor with a meat thermometer while he was attacking Sharon. Just moments before, Denise had hit Nish over the head with a bottle when he tried to attack Suki. They had then hidden the body under the café floor and planted the murder weapon on Dean Wicks, the rapist.
Nish had noticed an awkward conversation between Kathy and Suki and he refused to back down until he knew the truth. He had been suspicious from the beginning, especially since the women had covered up Denise's attack on him by saying that Keanu had gone into a rage and attacked them all. Despite Linda confessing to Keanu's sister Bernie earlier in the summer, she had remained tight-lipped about it.
In tonight's episode, tensions were high as the women were once again being interviewed by DCI Arthurs. Nish had noticed an uncomfortable conversation between Kathy and Suki and later barged into the Panesar home, catching Denise and Linda at the dinner table. Stacey and Kathy also arrived, but Kathy was unaware that Nish was there. She went through the hallway, telling Suki that they needed to stick to their story to avoid getting caught.
Nish had followed the women to the police station for questioning and he couldn't help but ask DCI Arthurs if the women were suspects. The chief inspector couldn't disclose that information, but it was clear that he had his doubts. When he spoke to Suki, he asked her why her and Linda's fingerprints were on the tarpaulin that had covered Keanu's body. Luckily, Suki quickly came up with a cover story, saying that she had helped put some rubbish into a skip next to her partner's sandwich van.
But Nish wasn't satisfied and he headed to Kathy's house. He sent her a text from Suki's phone, letting her know that he knew everything. Kathy was shocked and couldn't believe that Nish had tricked her. She went to call her son Ian Beale for help, but Nish quickly sent another text from Suki's phone, saying "Nish knows, I'm sorry." Kathy was stunned at his deceit.
As she sat there in disbelief, Kathy remembered the truth about the murder. Nish recoiled in horror when he found out that Linda was the one responsible for Keanu's death. It was clear that Kathy had put the group in serious danger by revealing the truth to Nish, the most ruthless businessman in Albert Square.
Nish went back to Suki and told her what had happened. It seemed like there was no way for them to escape him now. The group was in for a rough time as Nish was now privy to the worst possible information. But the question remained - would they be able to escape his wrath?
