In 2025, leaders in the industry will gather at Women Of Power Summit to share tips on succeeding in the workplace.
The highly anticipated BLACK ENTERPRISE 2025 Woman of Power Summit is rapidly approaching, and attendees can expect a jam-packed schedule filled with valuable sessions to help advance their careers in any workplace. From March 5-8, The Bellagio in Las Vegas will host this empowering professional development experience for women, offering insights and strategies on how to excel in any industry. The event will kick off with BE's Legacy Awards Gala, followed by a variety of engaging speakers and activities, and comprehensive sessions that will address the challenges and solutions to becoming a successful leader in one's field.

One of the first sessions of the summit will be moderated by Monica Simmonds, a Public Health Consultant and Author, who will lead a discussion on "Keeping Rising To The Top." Simmonds will be joined by an impressive panel of accomplished women, including Maya Bowie, VP of Marketing at Walmart; Maggie Coleman, Chief Investment Officer at Manulife John Hancock; and Courtney A. Seard, a Strategic Consultant and Performance Coach. Together, they will share their personal journeys and the steps they took to reach the C-suite. At the same time, another session will focus on portraying essential leadership qualities, featuring speakers such as Asha Hope, VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Bayer, and Emily Nichols-Mitchell, a Leadership Development Coach.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to gain valuable insights on how to secure a seat at the coveted boardroom table. Led by Managing Principal Rose McKinney James, this session will delve into the strategies and actions needed to advance one's position and obtain corporate power. However, despite the progress made by Black women in the workplace, there is still the looming threat of the "Corporate Danger Zone." In another session, speakers such as Tope Ajala, Global Head of DEI at Oglivy, and Olanda Sharp-Buckley, VP of Customer/Tech Training at Dell, will share their experiences and tips for navigating the tricky corporate ladder.

The summit will also address the issue of workplace trauma and how to overcome it while still achieving success. Behavioral scientist Dr. Carey Yazeed will lead the discussion on how to prioritize one's health and wellness while forging a path forward. In the final session of the day, Sidnee Douyon, BE's Senior Digital Editor, will tackle the topic of women-on-women bias in the office. Joined by Olivia Linson, Director of Platform Operations and Support at Aflac, and Celeste Warren, VP of Global Diversity & Inclusion COE at Merck, among others, the panel will explore effective ways to handle conflicts professionally.

For women looking to take the next step in their career journeys, the 2025 Women of Power Summit presents an invaluable opportunity to network and gain essential knowledge.
