Illegal Aliens v Mexican Food

I lived in Texas for four decades and came to love Mexican food (TexMex) like one of my children.

There is a huge difference amongst Mexican food locations: Austin v San Antonio v El Paso.

With the advent of an invasion of illegal aliens (not all of whom are Mexican or Hispanic, 35,000 of them are Chinese with a lot of military age men), the demand for cultural food appropriation is high.

Witness the growth of Mexican fast food restaurants Chipotle and Taco Bell.I like this brace of Mexican fast food as it represents different spots on the price/quality/value continuum.

Look at the growth in the gross revenue since President Biden threw the Southern border open to all illegals, terrorists, drug donkeys, and scumbags. Wow!

What is the best TexMex restaurant in Texas, Big Red Car?

Ahhh, dear reader, a great question. My research says it is the Old Place Near the Graveyard in El Paso, also known as L&J Cafe across from the Concordia Cemetery at 3622 East Missouri Avenue.

Famous Texas gunfighter John Wesley Hardin, credited with killing 30 men in gunfights, is buried in the graveyard and his tomb is worth a visit with a full belly of TexMex.

But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car. Get any of the plates, be careful of the hot salsa, and drink a beer.
