Houston rapper Viper arrested on charges of aggravated kidnapping for allegedly holding a woman captive for years.
Lee Carter, a 52-year-old Texas rapper better known by his stage name Viper, was arrested by the Houston Police Department on Jan. 4 after a woman accused him of aggravated kidnapping. According to court documents, the woman had been kidnapped by Carter approximately four or five years ago while she was panhandling near Almeda Genoa Road in Houston.

The woman alleged that Carter forced her to stay in a garage attached to his house, where he would give her a steady diet of drugs, such as crack cocaine, and chips. She further alleged that Carter sexually assaulted her and would only occasionally let her bathe in his house, before returning her to the garage. She eventually escaped by breaking the garage window and was picked up by the police and taken to the hospital.

Sources also tell us that Carter is known as the Houston rap artist “Viper”, and neighbors recall seeing a woman who appeared to be several months pregnant, crawl out of a window. When the police arrived, they found a malnourished woman standing at around 5’2, weighing around 70 pounds, with her hair “crusty” and clothes “filthy dirty”. She reported that Carter had threatened to inflict physical harm if she tried to escape again.

The woman eventually managed to contact the police via a laptop to report that she was being held against her will. Upon breaching the window, officers found a mattress covered with vomit, bags of chips and Twinkies, and a makeshift toilet.

Houston Police Department Commander Michael Collins said that the conditions he found the woman in sickened him, and the judge cleared the room before setting Carter’s bail at $100,000. The woman’s current location is unknown, according to the Houston Police Department, and a preliminary hearing for Carter’s case has been set for Jan. 8.
