Hotel sued after scorpion incident causes sexual problems for couple.
According to a recent lawsuit, Michael Farchi had quite the surprise when he discovered a scorpion clinging onto his underwear. The 62-year-old, who was staying at the Palazzo at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas with his wife Baita over Christmas, woke up in excruciating pain. Upon further investigation, he realized that the source of his discomfort was a scorpion sting, with the little critter still hiding under the bed covers on Boxing Day.

Photographs provided by the couple's lawyer to 8NewsNow show the remains of the scorpion still gripping onto Michael's underwear. "I didn't know what it was," Michael shared with the local broadcaster. "It felt like a sharp knife or glass stabbing me." As a result of this incident, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of the couple. Michael claims that he has been left with PTSD and erectile dysfunction, while Baita is also suing for loss of consortium, stating that their sex life has been negatively affected.

One of their lawyers, Brian Virag of My Bed Bug Lawyer, explained to 8NewsNow that Baita is alleging their sexual relationship has suffered significantly since the incident. As for Michael, he recalls that the hotel staff did not take the situation seriously. "They were just holding their groin area and laughing about it. It was really embarrassing," he shared. In fact, Michael was eventually diagnosed with "poisoning, scorpion sting" at the Summerlin Hospital. Doctors at the UCLA Medical Center also stated that he was suffering from erectile dysfunction due to the sting.

However, the effects of the sting go beyond just physical pain. "It has affected my family, my work, everything," Michael revealed. The lawsuit states that the Venetian had a duty of care to provide a clean and safe room, free of any vermin or pests, including scorpions. As a result, Michael is seeking a jury trial to assess damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental distress, loss of companionship and support, and loss of enjoyment of life.

The American Red Cross lists a range of symptoms that one can experience after a scorpion sting, including headaches, rigid muscles, blisters, numbness, and seizures. The Venetian has been approached for comment on this matter.
