In the bustling city of Indore, a special event called SwachhtaUtsav was launched by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to promote cleanliness throughout Madhya Pradesh. As part of this initiative, a thorough cleanliness inspection took place at Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital on Thursday. Dr. Arvind Ghanghoria, the esteemed Dean of MGM Medical College, led the inspection alongside Superintendent Dr. Basant Nigwal and other senior officials.
During the inspection, Dr. Ghanghoria diligently examined every nook and cranny of the hospital, from the sprawling campus to the various wards, canteen, and building facilities. However, he was disheartened to find several areas that were not up to par in terms of hygiene. Expressing his grave concerns, he imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on HLL, the company responsible for maintaining the hospital's sanitation. Similarly, the canteen operator was also fined Rs 10,000 for neglecting proper hygiene standards while preparing and storing food.
As part of his thorough inspection, Dr. Ghanghoria made sure to cover every floor of the hospital, from the ground level to the sixth floor. In his efforts to maintain cleanliness, he instructed HLL to keep daily records of their cleaning activities, maintain an attendant sheet, and provide regular sanitation reports. He also requested the company to install protective nets in the dialysis unit on the sixth floor to prevent pigeons from entering, and thoroughly clean the ducts, basement floors, and window areas.
Moreover, the diligent Dean also directed the Public Works Department to complete the renovation of toilets, washrooms, and ducts on the first floor by October 5, 2025. The engineers and contractors from PWD assured Dr. Ghanghoria that they would complete the work within the given deadline. The inspection team also included SDM Indore Pradeep Soni and other officials.
Overall, the inspection served as a wake-up call for the hospital and its staff to take cleanliness and hygiene seriously. With the guidance and strict measures implemented by Dr. Ghanghoria, it is expected that the hospital will maintain a high level of cleanliness in the future, ensuring the well-being and safety of its patients.
