Harvard grad seeks 3,000 Black women with high school diplomas to help her break a world record.
Jen Franks Ahaghotu is a US-based CEO and Harvard University graduate who is passionate about the power of Black women's educational achievements. Despite the systemic barriers and lack of representation that Black women face in various academic fields, Ahaghotu has broken barriers and is now showing the world how far we can go.

On September 8th, 2023, Ahaghotu is calling on 3,000 Black women with a High School Diploma or above to help her set a world-first, mass representation record online. The title is the Official Extreme Excellence World Record for “The Most Photos of Black Women with a Graduation Certificate Uploaded in 24 Hours.” This project is not only aiming to positively flood social media, but also to have a minimum of 1 million social impacts across many social networks. So far, it has already attracted almost 400,000 impacts.

This day is especially important as it is the birthday of civil rights activist Ruby Bridges, who integrated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans at just 6 years old in 1960, becoming an international icon. The project is raising important funds and awareness for the Ruby Bridges Foundation, and will culminate in an event in Washington DC during Black History Month in February 2024.

Jen Franks Ahaghotu is hopeful that this project will celebrate Black women's contributions to the highest level in the global narrative. She believes that it will be a joyous focal point to share our stories, and that future generations will be watching and learning. She has also chosen the only female-founded world record company, Extreme Excellence World Records from Tasmania, to adjudicate the attempt.
