Congratulations to Harry Styles, Florence Welch, Little Simz and all the other nominees at The Ivors 2023! This year, the prestigious songwriting awards have recognised 72 individual British or Irish songwriters and composers across its nine categories, with 54% of them receiving their first ever nomination.

Harry is up for three Ivors along with Kid Harpoon, while Florence and Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, George Daniel and Matty Healy are up for Songwriter of the Year with Amazon Music.

Ed Sheeran is also making Ivors history as his track Bad Habits is once again nominated after winning the award last year, making him the first ever artist to achieve the feat in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category.

As for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, Harry's As It Was, Tom Odell’s Best Day of My Life, Katie Gregson-Macleod’s Complex, SAULT’s Stronger and Florence + the Machine’s King, featuring esteemed US songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff, have all been honoured.

In the film score category, John Powell has been nominated for Don’t Worry Darling, starring Harry alongside Florence Pugh, and the record-breaking blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, composed by Simon Franglen.

The winners will be revealed at The Ivors with Amazon Music at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday, May 18!

Ed Sheeran has made history with his nomination for PRS for Music Most Performed Work, becoming the first ever artist to achieve the feat in this category with both Bad Habits and Shivers.

King by Florence + The Machine has also been honoured, as well as Harry’s As It Was and Glass Animals Heat Waves.

Little Simz joins the writers up for a prestigious gong, nominated for Best Album with No Thank You and Best Contemporary Song with Leon the Professional.

Ed Sheeran is making Ivors history with his nominations and is the only artist to be recognised in the Best Song Musically and Lyrically category with As It Was, Tom Odell’s Best Day of My Life, Katie Gregson-Macleod’s complex, SAULT’s Stronger, and Florence + the Machine’s King.

The Ivors also recognises Britain and Ireland’s finest composers across film, TV, and video games, with John Powell up for his work on Don’t Worry Darling, starring fellow nominee Harry, and the record-breaking blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, composed by Simon Franglen.

Britain and Ireland's most promising songwriting talents have also been recognised, with Cat Burns, Ines Dunn, tendai, venbee, and Victoria Canal all nominated for the Rising Star Award with Amazon Music.

The winners of The Ivors 2023 will be revealed at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday, May 18, with Sting set to become a Fellow of the Ivors Academy, the highest honour the Academy bestows.
