Monday, Nov. 17: Kodagu district director of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, Dani Harapalli Ravindra, who was a Congress ticket aspirant from Madikeri constituency in the last assembly elections, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of former state Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan along with district-level BJP leaders.

At the stage of the protest meeting against the state government organized at the Jessi Vedike, Harapalli Ravindra and his supporters were welcomed by BJP leaders Ashwath Narayan, former MLAs Appachchu Ranjan, K.G. Bopaiah, party district president Ravi Kalappa, former president B.B. Bharatish, mandal president Gautam Gowda and others with the party flag.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP leaders opined that the BJP has gained more strength with the joining of Ravindra, who is serving the society as a donor, social worker, and director of the Vokkaligara Sangha.

Speaking after joining the party, Harapalli Ravindra said that he joined the BJP without putting forward any demands, inspired by the principles and ideals of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Modi's patriotism and development work.

It is clear that there is no respect for those who do social work in the Congress. Efforts will be made to organize the BJP in the district, strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and support the leaders. He said that a large number of party joining programs will be organized in the coming days.

Farmers have built a living on more than 30 thousand acres of C and D land. Struggles will be organized against the attempt to unite them. Before the minister sits in Bengaluru and issues orders, he should come to Shantalli, Bettadalli, Taddikoppa, Haraga, Kotnalli areas of Kodagu and understand the reality. An objective report should be prepared regarding this and a review petition should be filed with the court along with the documents. But he alleged that the people's representatives of the ruling party are not doing this work.
