Readers suggest Warner Bros. write off Suicide Squad as a tax loss, as faith in Sega diminishes.

Guessing the best Black Friday deal, discussing Alan Wake 2 sales, and speculating Elden Ring DLC - all in one inbox.
As Black Friday approaches, I'm hoping to make some good savings. All the consoles will be on sale, and there are tons of great bundles, so I'm excited for anyone that takes advantage of that. EA Sports FC 24 seems to be the frontrunner for a discount, but I'm hoping for some other games like Assassin's Creed Mirage, Sonic Superstars, Lords of the Fallen, and RoboCop: Rogue City.
Older games like Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Diablo 4, and Street Fighter 6 are sure to be cheaper as well. I'm not sure Hogwarts Legacy will be discounted, though, since it's still selling well.

The big questions for me are Starfield and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Not sure if Microsoft will have enough Xbox discs to make them available for a discount, but if they do then it could be surprisingly cheap. I'm guessing Modern Warfare 3 will be at least £10 to £20 off.

I've been a Sega fan for 40 years now, so I'm loyal to them. I've played all the Mario games and appreciate them for what they are, but I'm never going to say they're the best. Super Mario Bros. Wonder really impressed me and I might even try to 100% it.

It's been decades of Sega promising to revive classic games, but nothing ever happens and I can't imagine it ever will. It's obvious they don't have the money to turn any of these into modern games, and they're not eager to try. The first super game just sounds like more live service nonsense, so it's clear they've learned nothing from Hyenas.

Alan Wake 2 has gotten some good scores in reviews, but there's no way to tell how much it's sold since it's digital only. I'm hoping for another one, and if there isn't I just hope the DLC wraps things up nicely.

Finally, I think Warner Bros. should make Suicide Squad a tax write-off. It looks like they're done with being a proper games publisher and just want to be a live service company. Spider-Man 2 is a prime example of how they've failed, and the Wonder Woman game is probably more live service garbage than it originally was. Suicide Squad looks absolutely dreadful and I think writing it off is the best thing that could ever happen to it.
As Black Friday approaches, I'm sure many of us are looking forward to making some great savings. It looks like all three consoles will have some good bundles, so I'm sure many will benefit from that.
EA Sports FC 24 is one of the favourites to be discounted, but Assassin's Creed Mirage, Sonic Superstars, and Lords Of The Fallen are also likely to be cheaper. Older games like Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Diablo 4, and Street Fighter 6 are also bound to be cheaper.
Starfield and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may also be available for a discount, though I'm not sure if Microsoft even have enough Xbox discs available for that to be the case. If they do, then it could end up surprisingly cheap.

I'm also hoping we get some news about the Elden Ring DLC at The Game Awards next month, as I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms from FromSoftware games. While Remnant was good, it's different enough that it's not a true Soulslike. I may end up picking up Armored Core 6 during Black Friday, just to scratch that itch.

Speaking of loyalty, I've always been a Sega loyalist, having chosen Sonic over Mario. I've played all the Mario games and appreciate them, but Super Mario Bros. Wonder was something else! I'm actually considering trying to get the 100% completion for it, which tells you how impressed I was.

Unfortunately, it looks like Sega are all talk when it comes to reviving classic games. With Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, there's always rumours that come to nothing. They don't have the money to turn these into modern games and they don't seem to understand the appeal of the originals. And the first super game they've announced is just more live service nonsense.

Finally, I'm concerned about the lack of data on Alan Wake 2 sales. All we know is that it didn't appear in the US console top 150 list for October 28th. I really hope there's another one, so hopefully the same chart next month will reveal more.
