CHEF Gordon Ramsay has brought the second instalment of his Future Food Stars television programme to Glenapp Castle in Argyll.

The 21-room accommodation is featured in the opening episode of the series, which is scheduled to be shown at 9pm tomorrow night on BBC One.

“We start and end the series in my hometown, Scotland, and travel across the UK to Wales, Manchester, Gateshead, Henley, and Oxford,” said Ramsay.

“The aim really is to feature and shine a light on some of the incredible places, people and their businesses which make the UK food and drink industry so exciting at the moment.”

The 8-week show holds 12 upcoming food and drink entrepreneurs who contend for a £150,000 investment from Ramsay.

In the initial episode, the chef had to intervene to stop some of the contestants’ dishes being served to attendees at a dinner.

“The first banquet was a total

,” exclaimed Ramsay.

“Messy tables, cardboard boxes everywhere, raw food – it was a pretty poor start, and I was incredibly disappointed; things truly only could get better from there.”

This series’ competitors include Rachel Munro, who owns Thyme Café on Alloway Street in Ayr.

“Collaborating with Gordon, receiving feedback, bonding with other crew members, and learning from their expertise has caused me to develop as a person,” she stated.

“I would say all in all it was a really positive experience although at the time, because you are so engaged, it was hard to see the big picture.

“But looking back, it was one of the best experiences I have ever taken part in and I am truly thankful for the opportunity.”
