Girl, 12, suffers nightmares after being attacked by a dog, leaving her with lifelong scars.
Daisy Fagan's family have been left traumatized after the four-year-old was "scarred for life" following a dog attack. Daisy was playing at a park near her home in Nelson, Lancashire when a black terrier bit her cheek. The incident left her with blood "squirting" from her face and has meant she now wakes up every night crying due to nightmares.

Unfortunately, the dog was not seized by authorities as the breed is not legally prohibited in the UK. Daisy's mum, Charlotte Slyfield, is hoping the law will be changed to allow for the custody of any dog that attacks a person. She said, “The dog has done the same thing as a banned breed, so I can’t see the difference. This little terrier has come along and tried to take her face off. It’s just not good enough, to be honest.”

Daisy required several hospital visits for surgery and antibiotics after the attack. Charlotte says she'll remember the incident forever and that it feels like the dog has gotten away with it. She even mentioned that her daughter may have permanent scars on her face.

The incident took place when Daisy was out playing with her cousins. Her dad Mel Fagan was looking after the kids when they were approached by a man with two dogs, a white beagle and black terrier-type dog, which Mel had seen around the neighbourhood and was usually muzzled. Although the owner assured them the dog would be "fine" to pet, it bit Daisy's face when she approached it.

Charlotte was outraged to find out that the owner was only issued with a caution. She has since put posters up around the neighbourhood to warn others, although these have been torn down. Mel went further, saying that if it was his pet, he would have had it "put to sleep."
