G-Unit sets up film & TV studio in Louisiana.
It was an exciting day in Shreveport, Louisiana as rapper and entrepreneur Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson officially launched his G-Unit Film & Television Studio. Back in December 2023, 50 Cent had announced his plans to open the studio in Shreveport and now, it was finally a reality.

Surrounded by Mayor Tom Arceneaux and members of the City Council, 50 Cent proudly welcomed the opening of his studio. As he signed the lease, Mayor Arceneaux declared April 18th as Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson Day and even presented the "Many Men" rapper with a key to the city.

Addressing the crowd, 50 Cent expressed his gratitude and excitement, "Ladies, gentlemen, Mayor Tom Arceneaux and the wonderful people of Shreveport, it is an honor for me to stand before you here today. As someone who has always believed in the transformative power of music, film, and television, I am thrilled to showcase the expansion of film and television through G-Unit Studio right here in Shreveport."

According to Fox 8 Live, 50 Cent secured a lease for the city-owned studio at an annual cost of $2,400. The city council unanimously approved his request to lease the space, which was previously known as Millennium Studio. As part of the agreement, 50 Cent also took on the responsibility of managing the building maintenance. The lease was approved for a period of 30 years with an option to renew for an additional 15 years.

In an exclusive statement to Billboard, 50 Cent shared his vision for G-Unit Studios, "From the gritty narratives of the streets to the compelling stories that define our era, G-Unit has always been more than just entertainment; it's a platform for voices that need to be heard, stories that need to be told. Bringing G-Unit Studios to Shreveport is not just a business decision; it's a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities, and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation. We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity."

It had been almost a year since 50 Cent had teased his followers with a short video clip of the 985,000-square-foot G-Unit Film & Television Studio, promising that it was on its way. And now, it was finally here, a testament to his hard work, determination, and passion for the arts.
