It has been confirmed that Tejano musician Fito Olivares has passed away at the age of 75. His wife, Griselda Olivares, revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer last year and he passed away at his home in Houston on Friday morning. Rodolfo Olivares, born in April 1947, was raised in Tamaulipas and began to play professionally at the age of 16. He moved to Houston in 1980 with his brothers, forming Olivares y su Grupo La Pura Sabrosura, and he is known for songs such as Juana La Cubana, Aguita de Melon, El Chicle and El Colesterol. Fito was also a saxophonist, songwriter, accordion player and singer, and his wife shared that the family had received a lot of support from fans on social media.
