Virajpet, July 14: A fire broke out in a government residential house near the town's tourist temple, damaging two houses.
Smoke was accidentally seen in the government residential house where Johnson and Dinesh, who are managing the tourist temple of the Public Works Department, live. Dinesh's family immediately tried to put out the smoke by pouring water on the area where the smoke was coming from. The police department was immediately informed and the police and local residents immediately rushed to the spot and tried to put out the fire.
The fire engine and personnel who arrived from Gonikoppa succeeded in putting out the fire. Johnson's house was completely gutted in the fire, while Dinesh's house was partially damaged. The Virajpet police were successful in removing the filled cylinders from both houses.
Virajpet Police D.Y.S.P. Mahesh Kumar, Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa, Rural Station Officer Vanishree, City Station Officer Pramod, Municipal President M.K. Dechamma, Vice President Fasiha, Municipal Members Ranji Poonachha, Rajinikanth, Abdul Jalil, along with several police constables and the public were present on the occasion and succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
