Fakhar Zaman suspended for two games for tampering with ball in PSL.

In Lahore, a recent incident involving Fakhar Zaman, a prominent player in the Pakistan Super League, has caused quite a stir. Zaman had been handed a two-match ban for allegedly tampering with the ball during a match. However, he was not willing to accept this punishment and decided to appeal against it.

A three-member technical committee was formed to review the appeal and after careful consideration of all the evidence, they have decided to uphold the ban imposed by match referee Roshan Mahanama. This decision means that Zaman will have to sit out for his team, Lahore Qalandars, during their upcoming matches against Multan Sultan and Islamabad United on Friday and April 9 respectively. Zaman had argued that there was no concrete proof to support the claim that he had altered the condition of the ball and therefore, the ban should be revoked.

However, the match referee had already conducted two hearings with him after the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. During the match, just before the final over, umpire Faisal Afridi had requested the ball from Zaman, along with Shaheen Shah Afridi and pacer Haris Rauf. The three players were huddled together at the time.

Upon inspecting the ball with his fellow umpire Shujauddaula, Afridi imposed a five-run penalty on the Qalandars team and also replaced the ball. This decision was met with some protest from Shaheen, but it ultimately had a major impact on the match. As a result of the penalty, Karachi Kings only needed nine runs in the final over to secure a thrilling victory, which they were able to achieve within the first three balls.

The incident has caused quite a buzz in the world of cricket, with many discussing whether the punishment was fair or not. However, the decision of the technical committee stands and Zaman will have to serve his ban. We can only hope that this serves as a lesson for all players to uphold the integrity of the game.
